Culintro hits 1,500th member milestone

A big “wow” and “congratulations” go out to the folks at Culintro, one of our newer customers who use Tendenci to manage their Web site and membership. In just a few short months they have registered 1,500 members after starting from scratch earlier in the year. Clearly, that rapid growth suggests they are satisfying a need for executives in the restaurant industry. Check out the news release for more details.

Are you ready….to let the dogs out? Go ahead, give a good bark…you know you want to. We also know that between your busy schedule, American Idol mayhem and tweeting about #medievelmovies that good Ol’ Cranston hasn’t seen a bathtub since the Philadelphia Eagle’s last Super Bowl win. Folks, I’m not sure if you’re aware…but that has been a really, really long time. So what’s a dog with an extreme odor issue to do?
The Houston Humane Society (Schipul client) and Whole Foods Market invite all Houstonians and their furry friends to Shampooch, a benefit dog wash this Saturday (May 23, 2009) from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. The event will take place at ALL Houston area Whole Foods Market locations:

2955 Kirby Drive
4004 Bellaire Blvd.

15900 Southwest Freeway in Sugarland

11145 Westheimer Road
6401 Woodway

How perfect is Shampooch? You can take care of that long-overdue grocery list while Cranston gets a taste of the good life…cleanliness. And not to worry, your beloved is in the hands of the Houston Humane Society staff and volunteers where they will bathe, lather, pamper, and quite possibly treat your pooches to a delightful song and dance number. Alright, the song and dance number is optional…I just thought since ‘Keyboard Cat” was such a hit that, well you know…it’s just a thought. Whole Foods Market will be providing all-natural products used for the washes. All donations will support the HHS’s efforts in promoting humane treatment towards animals. For more information contact Lisa Pogue 713.341.3311 or via e-mail lpogue@houstonhumane.org.

If you would like to adopt the adorable Bonita featured in the picture go to the Houston Humane Society shelter and ask for tag 240.

Brett Elliott, 54, was killed March 30 in his town home at 9850 Pagewood Ln in Houston. Elliott was a member of the Houston chapter of the American Advertising Federation and a friend of Schipul.

This morning, Crime Stoppers of Houston held a press conference with more details on the murder. According to Detective Abbey of the HPD Homicide department, the Houston Fire Department received a call at 5:45 a.m. on March 30 from a neighbor who saw smoke coming from Elliott’s apartment. When police and fire officials arrived on the scene, they discovered Elliot’s body.

Brett Elliot, you will be missed

According to Abbey, there was no forced entry. He would not comment on the injuries or stolen items as not to compromise the ongoing investigation.

Lisa Elliott, Brett’s sister, spoke on the incident saying the family “can’t grasp how this could happen.” She remarked on Brett’s character and wide circle of friends saying, “once you crossed paths with him, he stayed with you and you were friends forever.”

Crime Stoppers are looking for people who were out in those morning hours who may have noticed any unusual activity. If you have any information, please call crime stoppers at (713) 222-8477. If your tips lead to a felony charge, you are eligible for a $5,000 reward.

YMCA of Greater Houston has unveiled an upgraded and interactive Web site designed by Schipul' The Web Marketing Company.

Congratulations to the YMCA of Greater Houston, which has  unveiled www.ymcahouston.org, an upgraded and interactive Web site. The Schipul team  is proud to be associated with such a highly respected Houston institution. Can you imagine the challenge of connecting with 100,000 people served every day? That challenge is why the  Y’s  Web site plays such a major role. For example, we made sure every page features a zip code search tool to make it easy to find the closest center. The Web site also makes it easy to apply for financial aid, join the Y as a facility member, register for upcoming programs and subscribe to receive e-mail alerts. We are also helping to roll out  Y-Online, a new online registration system that will provide a faster and more user-friendly experience.
